The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at Auburn University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of French Linguistics (Second-Language Acquisition) position, to begin in August 2018. This position has a 3-2 teaching load and will include instruction of all levels of French language and upper-level courses such as (but not limited to) French phonetics and introduction to linguistics.

Required qualifications: Applicants for this position must have a PhD (in hand by August 16, 2018) in French Linguistics (Second-Language Acquisition) or related field and native or near-native fluency in French and English. Applicants must also provide evidence of teaching excellence at the college level in addition to a well-developed plan of research and scholarship. Willingness to direct study abroad programs, to contribute to on-line course development, and to participate in the development of the French section (including extracurricular activities) is expected. Familiarity with multi-media technologies (Canvas) and current language pedagogies as well as experience in innovative course curricula are highly desirable.

The candidate selected for this position must meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time of the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment; excellent communication skills required.
